Vulnerable Young People

Vulnerable Young People

Equipping SaLTs, Educational Psychologists and Specialist Teachers to deliver our course for staff working with young people within youth offending institutions, prisons and vulnerable situations.

Who can apply?

If you are a Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT), you can be trained as an Elklan Tutor on our Total Training Pack - Vulnerable Young People . You'll then be eligible to deliver our full range of core, specialist and Let's Talk courses, simply by purchasing additional training manuals.

Specialist Teachers with additional qualifications or suitable relevant experience in supporting children and young people with speech and language needs can also apply. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS FOR SPECIALIST TEACHERS ONLY WHO WORK ACROSS MULTIPLE SCHOOLS/SETTINGS AS A TEACHING ADVISOR. THIS MEANS YOU ASSESS AND ADVISE STAFF ON HOW TO SUPPORT CHILDREN/YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SLCN. TRAINING IS PART OF YOUR ROLE

If you wish to be considered for full tutor status, please apply for the TTP you wish to complete and select 3b on the form. You will then be asked to provide further information regarding your qualifications. Your place on the TTP will be confirmed once this has been reviewed. Please see our policy document for more information.

How is it delivered?

In normal circumstances we offer both online and face-to-face training. Face to face training can still be commissioned. Both cover the same superb content and are taught by either Henrietta or a Lead Elklan Tutor and Professional Advisor.

Online Training

Our online training is completed over four 2.5 – 3-hour sessions.

You will be expected to read the manuals to prepare you for the webinars. By the end of the training, you'll be equipped and ready to run Elklan training for vulnerable young people in your locality.
