Assessment

Before using a Sound Builders programme, a child with unclear speech should have an assessment carried out within the past 6 months by a qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC), to check that Sound Builders is appropriate. If local assessment is not possible, Elklan will screen a child’s speech and language to confirm their suitability for the Sound Builder approach and will advise which programme to use.
